Creating a calm and mindful morning routine gives your day purpose, and sets the tone for the rest of the day.
Can you tell a difference between a day that starts leisurely with a hot cup of coffee or tea while sitting on the patio watching the rest of the world come to life and one that starts with gulping down that same cup of coffee and rushing out the door?
Your morning routine should be personal to you. Don’t try to squeeze too much in, keep it simple and no longer than an hour. Feel free to change your morning routine anytime something know longer works for you.
MY CURRENT MORNING ROUTINE:
- Wake between 7:00-8:00 am
- Wash face and brush teeth
- Drink a large glass of warm water with lemon oil vitality and take vitamins
- Enjoy a hot tea on the patio
- Write a blog post
- Plan remainder of the day
- Eat a healthy breakfast
Your routine will look different but do what works best for you. If you study successful people, you learn the one common denominator they all share is that they have similar habits – and a morning ritual is one of them.
OTHER MORNING HABITS MAY INCLUDE:
- Wake up at a set time every morning, including weekends
- Make your bed
- do 25 pushups
- Run a mile every day
- Take a cold shower
- Keep a daily gratitude journal
- Read your morning devotion
- Listen to a podcast
- Plan your day
Remember that creating a habit takes time and if you want the routine to stick, you’re going to have to make it a habit. And a habit generally takes 21 days to be an established pattern in your head, where you know longer have to think it through, it becomes a natural part of your morning.
